The Firenook name and marks
“Firenook”, the Firenook wordmark and the Firenook flame identify this project and the software it publishes. The Apache License 2.0 that covers the source grants no trademark rights: its section 6 excludes the licensor’s names and marks, except as needed to describe where the work comes from.
Fine without asking
- Saying your software works with, was tested against or is built on Firenook, and linking to it.
- Calling the unmodified software “Firenook” when you redistribute the published packages or an unmodified build.
- Using the name in articles, talks, comparisons and reviews, and the logo from the brand kit to point to Firenook.
Needs a different name
- A modified build, fork or derivative distributed under a name containing “Firenook”, or with its mark, in a way that suggests it is the project’s own release. Rename what you distribute (package names, binaries, banners, documentation titles) so people can tell them apart. “Based on Firenook” is welcome.
- Products, services, domains, package scopes or organisations that use “Firenook” as part of their own brand.
Trademarks of others
Google, Google Cloud, Firebase, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub and Cloud Tasks are trademarks of Google LLC. This site uses them only to name the APIs and emulators Firenook is compatible with, and shows none of their logos. Other names belong to their owners.
